The “Links” module allows you and your users to post links to other websites on your website which are sorted into categories to make it easier to browse for a specific group of websites. Categories are required to use this module. Once you create a category and click on a category you will have an additional button that will read “Manage Links”. Once you click this button you will be taken to a screen to edit and delete links to other sites.
Enable the links page? – Select “Yes” to enable the links module, otherwise select “No”.
Display the 10 newest links on your links page? – When this option is turned on, your users will see the latest top 10 newest links that have been posted on your website.
Display the most popular links on your links page? – When this option is turned on, your users will see the latest top 10 most clicked on links on your main links page.
Approval email address (Leave blank to disable). – You can enter an email address in this field to send new link postings to. The email address entered in this field will be able to approve links before they are visible on your website. If this is empty then it will ignore this option.
Keys to access the links. – Select the keys that will be able to access the “Links” module.
Keys to post a new link. – Select the default keys a user will need to post links to a category. When adding a category the “write” keys for a category will overwrite this option.
Keys to manage the links. – Select the keys a user must have to manage the “Links: module. Users in this key will be able to edit and delete links to other websites from your database.
This screen will allow you to modify the main links page that a user will see when entering the “Links” module. You can also modify individual category pages by selecting the dropdown for “Page to Modify”.
