Business Directory

The “Business directory” module allows you and your users to post businesses on your website which are sorted into categories to make it easier to browse for a specific type of business. Categories are required to use this module. You can add new businesses through the administrator interface and through the user side. Once you create a category and click on a category you will have an additional button that will read “Manage Business”. Once you click this button you will be taken to a screen to approve, deny and delete businesses.

Settings

Enable the “Business directory” – Select “Yes” to enable the “Business directory” module, otherwise select “No”.

Display top 10 newest businesses on the main page – When this option is turned on, your users will see the latest top 10 newest businesses on your main “Business directory” page.

Allow business to use a photo album for additional images if the photo album module is enabled – This option only works if you have a license to the photo album module. Set to "Yes" if you want your users to be able to use an album the user has created to show more images for the business they are posting.

Maximum number of categories a listing can choose when posting a business – Enter a number of categories a user can select from to list their business under.

Show business contact name when displaying a business – Setting this option to "Yes" will show the contact name fields, otherwise select "No" to disable this field.

Show email address when displaying a business. – Selecting "Yes" here would publicly show the business contact email when a visitor is displaying the details for the business. If is recommended to select "No" here to hide the email address due to people spidering websites for email addresses to send Spam to.

Show 2 columns when listing businesses. – When setting this option to "Yes" the business listings when a category is clicked would show business side by side in 2 columns, selecting "No" will list all the business below each other down the page. This option depends on how your website layout is setup, because 2 column business layout might throw your website layout out of place.

Security

Keys to access the “Business directory”. – Select the keys that will be able to access the “Business directory” module.

Keys to be able to post a business. – Select the default keys a user will need to post a business. When adding a category the “write” keys for a category will overwrite this option.

Keys to manage the “Business directory”. – Select the keys a user must have to manage the “Business directory” module. Users in this key will be able to modify, approve and delete businesses from your database.

Web Pages

This screen will allow you to modify the main “Business directory” page that a user will see when entering the “Business directory” module. You can also modify individual category pages by selecting the dropdown for “Page to Modify”.
